The Oscar Award for Original Screenplay for Promising Young Woman goes to Emerald Fennell!

Emerald Fennell won the honor for the best original screenplay last night and what caught everybody’s attention was her humorous speech and her confession about her pregnancy.

The first Oscar 2021 award went to Emerald Fennell within the Original screenplay category for her movie, “Promising Young Woman”. She is an actress, writer, film maker, and producer. Her works include Albert Nobbs (2011), Anna Karenina (2012), The Danish girl (2015), and Vita and Virginia (2018). She has conjointly appeared in the Netflix period drama series “The Crown as Camilla”.

Promising Young Woman” that is an American comedy heroic tale film written and directed by Emerald Fennell, is additionally Emerald’s feature directorial debut. It stars Carey Mulligan, whose character desires to hunt the revenge of her best friend’s death, a rape victim. 

Though she was very aspiring to win the Oscars sometime, yet her childhood preparation for winning an Academy Award sadly did not come in use and she said,”The only speech I ever wrote was when I was 10,” she explained as she collected her award. “And I had a look to see if there’d be anything useful from it, but unfortunately, I mostly thanked Zack Morris from Saved by the Bell, who was my very supportive husband. Unfortunately, he hasn’t been as much a part of my life as I’d hoped, and so that speech is not that useful.” 

The consequence of her this statement was that backstage, Fennel was told that Zack Morris had begun trending on Twitter as a results of her speech. “Oh god, how embarrassing, really? Oh no,” said the star, who is currently expecting her second child with her actual husband Chris Vernon. 

Reflecting on her Academy Award as she hold her trophy, Fennell said,”It’s pretty amazing, but it’s very heavy. Maybe I just need to go to the gym, or maybe I could use him as a weight. I’ve only ever held a pretend one.”
